Young one (Hayoung Cheon)
Boston, Massachusetts <-> Seoul, Korea
Young one’s work is an ongoing dialogue between their body and the world.
While carrying the meaning imbued at the time of creation, each piece centers on generativity, embracing the possibility for continuously unfolding interpretations as it becomes material for exhibitions and spatial interventions.

Recently, their practice has focused on translating the multisensory impressions of time and space—encountered through walking—into a visual language. They primarily employ rapid, rhythmic lines and spontaneous drawings, often inviting natural elements such as branches and acorns found during their walks to participate as collaborators in the making process. Their paintings and prints extend across various surfaces including fabric, wooden panels, and mulberry paper. Their work explores the inherent contradictions and coexistence of digital and analog media, seeking to weave encounters with their work into multisensory experiences that linger within the folds of time and space.
